I am so excited to FINALLY be posting about this little guy :) I am still in shock that he is here and I have 3 kids, but I love it! Here is the story!
Thursday, April 21st, Mom Dad Kaydon and Abbie drove down to stay with us! I had stressed about them not getting here before I had the baby cuz I didn't have a CLUE what I was going to do with the kids while we were at the hospital. But my body obviously knows best and I should trust it more! (you'll find out why later) So, they got here about 3 in the afternoon. I was feeling NO contractions whatsoever and was now worrying that I wouldn't be able to have him before they left! Crunch time now...Well I started taking blue cohosh to see if that would help, and I started getting little tight contractions but nothing with pain in them. Dad of course adjusted me! (magic i tell ya) and then we just sat around and waited. (oh and I finally gave in to castor oil! Yuck!) Anyway, we hung out, had a fun afternoon watching the kids play and then it was bed time! Still no contractions :(
About 1:00 am I woke up to pain in my stomach. Thought I was just dreaming it so I tried to sleep through it and tossed and turned for a bit. It started to get stronger so I decided that maybe these were contractions, so I got my phone out and started timing them. They were definately contractions and they were coming about 4-5 minutes apart! I didn't want to wake Luke up cuz he had to work that day and would be getting up in about 2 1/2 hrs, so I was trying to let him sleep in case it was false labor! About 1:33 he woke up, I was kneeling at the side of the bed and he says" Are you ok" About then I realized that this was probly real and I said, "Uh, I don't think you are going to work today" :) He said, "Oh, Well thanks for letting me grow my beard out for 10 more days" (he had had the last 4 days off, and the military was going to give hime 10 days off for maternity leave or whatever they call it for dads) I laughed and said, "anytime" I sat in the bedroom for another half hr before I went and woke mom up. I wanted to make sure it was real! About 2:15 I went out and woke her up. By this time they were about 2-3 minutes apart and strong! Dad said we should probly go to the hospital and get checked out. Tuesday at my dr appt I was a 3 so we figured we should go in. We hurried and got dressed, grabbed our bags and cameras and me some food cuz I knew i wouldn't get to eat for a while once i got there! (boy were we wrong :) )
The hospital is about a half hr drive. By the time we got there I had the WORST back labor ever! I wasn't feeling one contraction in my stomach...it was all in my back! I was in tears over the contractions and it was the longest drive ever haha! We got there about 3 am, checked in, and they were in no hurry whatsoever! Of course! I wanted the epidural so bad with the back labor i was having! My check in nurse was a brat and taking her sweet time. She finally decided to check me and I was dialated to a 6 and then she probly figured she better hurry things up a bit! So she said we could finish my paperwork later, they were taking me upstairs. So up we went! The nurses were trying to hurry and get my IV in, draw my blood and all that jazz so I could get the epidural. Finally about 345 am he came in and gave it to me! Pure heaven! Oh , i must add...my husband almost passed out during the epidural :) He did such a good job holding me up while he numb my back, but then the nurse had to take over while my husband sat hunched over in the corner trying not to pass out! :) bless his heart! haha. He was tough though and didn't pass out. Thank goodness or he would have missed all the action! :) anyway, After I was all comfy, they checked me again and I was a 7. WELL....12 minutes later, I felt SO MUCH pressure! the nurse decided to check me and BAM! COMPLETE!!!! time to push! Wait...Dr Clinch (best dr EVER) was 30 minutes away!! So they hurried and called him, and said try not to push when you have a contraction! I was literally trying to hold this little guy in for a half hour! Everytime I got a contraction, I would hold my breath and try to suck in lol. I did not want to have him before Clinch got there. Well about 450 the Dr comes in . Can you guess what happened next? I couldn't contract for the life of me! we sat there for about 10 minutes without a contraction! Then they finally said I was having one, so go ahead and push! So I did just that. After ONE push...at 5:04 am, Koy James Duwel was laid on my tummy! He was absolutely PERFECT and tiny :) I couldn't believe that i was holding my 3rd child! It was just as miraculous and perfect as it was the first time I had a baby! He has tons of dark black hair! Looks just like Britlyn, and is SOOO cute :) I was in awe that I was holding him finally, but in my head I kept thinking, I am so glad Luke is here with me! It was such a special experience for me to be able to go through that with him. I was so extremely happy at that moment!! I'll never forget it!
Ok so on with the pictures! :)
SOOO glad that he was here this time! Even though I didn't have much time to think about hardly anything, since it all went so fast, I do remember thinking over and over how greatful I was that Luke was here this time!6lbs 14 oz 19 inches long! So tiny and cute :)

Holding uncle kaydons finger!
Just a little side note...My body does crazy things :) Every single kid has been born 3 days early from their due date, I have been adjusted hours before I went in to labor with ALL 3 kids, and with both boys, I had to wait till family came into town and once they got here I went in to labor that night :) I find that interesting!!
We are so happy that Koy is in our family! He is such a good baby and the kids love him to death! Britlyn holds him constantly and kolten loves to wave at him, give him hi fives and knuckles (sometimes a little too hard haha). Kolten will once in a while ask to hold the baby! I love it! He is so little but so grown up since the baby has come. He's a little boy now!
We had a hard time deciding on a name for Koy. Koy is actually not a name we had really planned on throughout the whole pregnancy. We had 2 others that we couldn't decide on, so we figured we would wait and see which one fit when he came. I had like Koy alot throughout the pregnancy but Luke was never really for it so we didn't talk about it much. but i would throw it out there once in a while :) But anyway, the one name we got rid of when he came, just didn't fit...so we started calling him the other one for all of saturday pretty much. Britlyn wanted us to use that name too. But Koy kept coming back to me. So I finally asked Luke what he thought and surprisingly he all of a sudden liked it! Well Sunday when we were going home, We finally decided on Koy, because the other name ended in an EN and we didn't want too many sound-a-like names. And I am absolutely in love with the way Kolten and Koy go together :) So we chose Koy. James is a family name on Lukes side. so we named him James for his middle name.
Im absolutely in love with this little man! So sweet and so cute! Too bad they dont stay little longer!
