Field Trips

Britlyn's preschool has had some really fun field trips that I haven't got the chance to blog about yet! So here they are all in one post :) We usually go on one a month. In January they went to the firestation. It was alot of fun. They took us on a tour of the station and then took us out to the truck. They split us up into two groups, our group got a tour of the firehouse first, and just as we got out to the truck they got a call and had to leave! :( totally bummed. we didn't get to see the truck at all? well they told us that they should only be about 20 minutes and that if we wanted to wait they would finish when we got back! Well of course Britlyn wanted to wait, that was the main thing she was so excited to see was the truck! Most the parents took off, but me and a couple moms stayed behind and waited. Sure enough, they were back pretty quick and it turned out even better. We got alot more than just a tour of the truck. They pulled the hose out and let the kids pretend with the hose, they gave them fireman hats, let them go inside the truck and sit in it and we got lots of fun pictures with the firemen. They didn't do this with the other group, but they felt bad we had to wait! But it was well worth it :) Kolten had a blast seeing the truck and didnt want to get out of it once he got in it! It was super fun!

 In February we went to Tolmachoff farms! This field trip was kind of a joke! They wanted to take the kids to pick vegetables. Well it had just rained a few days ago so the field was SUPER muddy. The dikes weren't that bad, but they wouldn't let us walk on the dikes, they wanted us to walk down the rows so we wouldn't smash anything. Well it was sooo muddy that these little 3 and 4 yr olds were sliding all over, loosing their shoes in mud and getting stuck cuz they were sinkin in it. They were covered in mud. I wouldn't let Britlyn walk in cuz I thought it was ridiculous, so we managed to get around it all, but that didn't mean the lady was very happy :) but I didn't care, she was rude about it so blah! :) anyway, she had fun picking the vegetables but i was sure glad when that part was over with.

 Next it was the animals. Kolten loved the goats. he would stick his hands up there and let them lick him, and he'd pet them. It was funny.

 They let the kids all take a turn feeding the baby goats! She was thrilled about this :)

 Then there was the train ride! The whole time Kolten was dying to ride in it, and Britlyn wanted nothing to do with it. Well at the very last second she decided to go so I stuck Kolten in with her! Oops :)

 This is how he came back riding it! He had fallen of the little seat and was down inside the barrel :) She ended up loving it, and she said he started crying!

 I seriously want to invest in a corn box. Its like a sand box, but corn! So much nicer than sand :)

Our next field trip and probly my favorite was Krispie Kreme Donuts!! It was a quick little tour of how they made their donuts, but of course they gave us a free on fresh off the rollers, so it was well worth it!

Also, Krispie Kreme does a free dozen donuts on your birthday if you show em ID :) SO guess where I went on my birthday?? Yup! To get me a box of free donuts!
