Well I tried to do a post about Christmas before I fall too far behind, but it isn't letting me upload any pictures, so I guess I will do my next post which is about our 5 year anniversary! Yes, today is the day after christmas, and it is also our anniversary! call us crazy! But 5 years ago today, I married my best friend! and even more importantly, 3 years ago today, I was SEALED to my best friend. I can't believe how fast it has gone, and I would have never imagined that we could go through and accomplish so much in 5 years, but we have :) I just wanted to write a little bit about the last 5 years in a nutshell.
Today was actually a rather ordinary day for us. We didn't do anything special, but we were together! We went to church, I took a much needed nap, we played outside with the kids, went on a walk around the block while they road in the powerwheel truck, we played cootie with Britlyn and I put kids to bed and then finished folding a little laundry. but that didn't stop me from thinking about what kind of a day it really was. How special it was to me 5 years ago, and what I could have been doing at that moment and so on.
I feel like the first 5 years of our marriage has been quite an adventure! We have gone through alot of hard times, but alot of good times. I thought about our 1st anniversary we had, we spent it away from each other. I was just glad to have him here safe and sound with me, even though nothing special happened. I take that for granted sometimes. I thought about some of the things we have done in 5 years;
we've had 2 beautiful children and a half of one :)
Were sealed in the Manti temple
we have moved and lived in 6 different homes/apartments here in arizona.
we bought our first home
I have wrecked 2 cars so we have therefore had to buy 2 new cars
Out of the 5 years, we have only been together 3 years and 9 months of it.
we have celebrated many holidays and birthdays away from each other.
We have experienced a birth on skype
This is the first pregnancy he's ever really been around for and im sure he is just loving it :) (almost 23 weeks)
we've made AWESOME friends
took the kids to sea world (our first real family vacation)
survived 2 deployments to Iraq
I decided to list the top 10 reasons why I love luke.
1. I love the fact that he is willing to work so hard so that i can stay home with the kids. He never complains about going to work and me staying home, he supports that, and I absolutely LOVE that about him.
2. He is such a strong person, I am so greatful to have a husband like Luke to help me make it through alot of the harder times that we have had. he has taught me alot of things and i honestly probably wouldnt be able to get through a few of the things we've experienced if it weren't for him.
3. He is such an awesome daddy! He is alot more fun to wrestle and tackle than mom :)
4. Always puts his family first! Always! I never have to worry about him not taking care of us.
5. He is smokin hot :)
6. He never complains about things. He may not like a few things that are going on all the time, but he never complains about it.
7. He is such a good worker/leader. I know people trust him and rely on him at work because they can, and I love hearing about stuff like that. It makes me proud :)
8. He loves to have a good time. Whenever we go on family trips he always trys to make it special and fun for us all.
9. He is a huge help to me, I don't know of too many men that will clean, bathe, and change diapers :) but he does when he knows I could really use the help :)
10. Last but not least I love the fact that I know he loves me! he is not an emotional person by any means :) so when he does show emotion to me, I know he really means it! and did I mention he is smokin hot? :)
I feel so blessed to have married Luke. He has definately taught me alot in life, and will continue too! I have taught him a few things myself haha but it has been an awesome 5 years and I can't wait to spend a whole eternity more together! its crazy to think of what the next 5 years will bring us, but it's so exciting!
Love you lots
