He's finally here! Kolten was born on Sunday Sept 27th at 12:08 pm. He was a whopping 8lbs 2 oz whish is WAY bigger than we all thought he would be! He was 21 1/4 in long! He has brown hair wich is so funny to me. Britlyn's was black, His is a brown with a little blonde in it! Its so cute! He doesn't have much, but he isn't bald :) He is such a good baby and we love him to death! Especially Big Sister Britlyn! needless to say, she's OBSESSED but she's sooo sweet with him! Everything went super good with the labor and delivery! I was a little impressed with myself at the way it all went and how I handled things with no epidural (kinda) I am so glad that he is here and its over though! Now I just need to heal :) Here are a few pictures of our sweet little man and me at the hospital!!
This is the start of a journey that i will never forget! This is a picture of me, talking to Luke on the phone! I went into labor about 1230 at night, we got to the hospital about 2:00 and before we left the house, I called over to Iraq and told them to go get Luke cuz I was in labor! They were so nice and willing to help out and went and found him and he called me just after I had got to the room and all checked out! We were waiting in this 1st room before they moved me upstairs to the Labor and Delivery room. So this is me just talking to him as we wait ans while I have contractions :)
They finally got us up to the Delivery room and that's where the web cam was so we got on and Then I could finally see him! i was so happy that it was all working out and that he was there with me throught the camera! He was such a trooper to sit on it the WHOLE time and only stepped out of the room for a couple snacks :) He was so good to sit there and listen to us girls gab about things, but I did sit through a couple football conversations with him too :) He was such a good support while I endured some nasty contractions too. He was so sweet! Love ya :)
Here is my amazing Labor crew :) They were so awesome to help me get through some contractions, make sure the camera was in a place so luke could see, They made sure I was comfortable, they were so awesome! i am soooo glad that mom was able to be there too! it made it a little easier and I was so greatful she was there with me! Carly and Jaymie were awesome to make sure everything was working great for luke! I am so greatful at the way everything worked out!
trying to relax and enjoy a popsicle to pass the time while im on the monitors! It felt so much better to be able to get up and walk around, but they would make me get on the monitors for 20 minutes every hr! So carly and jaymie got me a popsicle to hold me over :) Plus I was so hungry, and SO tired!
I was in labor for like 9-10 hours! They kept asking me if I wanted an epidural, but for some reason, I never really wanted one! My contractions were hard, but i could handle it, and I liked to be able to get up and walk around! we would go on walks throughout the hospital, and I could get up and sit on the big exercise ball thing they had and I could sit closer to luke on the computer, so I never wanted it really! The time just passed and I was kinda stuck at a 6...I decided to get in the shower and I took a really hot one, made a huge mess with the water :) haha and then we went on a little walk and thats about when I started contracting super hard! It was so crazy how fast it went after that! The dr came in FINALLY to break my water and then i started pushing a little after that! I pushed a few times, and chickened out haha, they hurried and called in the anesthesiologist and he hurried and gave me a BIG dose of pain in my back :) much to my demand haha and i pushed a few more times and we met our sweet baby Kolten!! Needless to say, I still felt everything, so I got an epidural and all I got out of it was a VERY numb upper body haha! I couldn't sit up my upper body was so numb, but I could still feel everything where i didn't want to haha :) so i got a good taste of what its like to have a baby natural!! and im sorry to say, i don't think i will do that again :) But im glad i did it and glad I tried it! Now i know :)
I could actually function now that it was all over, so this is luke and me finally talking just after they put Kolten on my stomach
Here is a picture of the ever so anxious daddy watching his son be weighed...I love how you can see him getting weighed down in the corner of the computer
I really hope I don't get babies much bigger than this! Maybe smaller heads would work too :)
He seriously is the cutest baby :) His lips and eyes are so stinking cute!
Here is Kolten saying hello to daddy! That big black thing is the web cam
The hospital offered to video it for us! Most of you may think its weird, but I LOVED it. They did it as a back up in case luke's video went out or something! It was so nice to have! So this is me getting interviewed after everything was over!
He looks so big in this picture haha! He was alot bigger than we all thought he was gonna be though! It was definately a shocker :)
I don't know why this picture keeps turning like this but oh well!! I love his little face!

He is such a doll!! I am so glad that Luke was able to be there for the whole thing, I bet you were too. I am so impressed by you for being so strong for these two precious kiddos of yours. I hope all is going well for you with that new darling Kolten.
keep the pics coming
Shianne, he is absolutely a doll! And I knew his name before, but I love it and I think it fits him, so good job. It was so fun reading your story and I love that Luke got to be a part of it somehow. :) Congrats!!!
I am so happy you let me be a part of this experience. I am happy that everything worked out and that Luke was able to "be there". You did a FANTASTIC job laboring and Kolten is such a doll! Love you!
He is SO BEAUTIFUL!!! Oh my gosh...and Mrs. Natural Delivery?! Holy cow, you amaze me!! Yeah, epidurals that don't work suck. That's what happened with me when I had Jack--the only thing that was numb was the tops of my thighs, but nothing that counted! AUGH! I am so glad Kolten is here, safe and sound! Hope you're getting sleep :)
What can I say...he is so stinkin cute! As hard as it must have been not to physically have him with you, it is so awesome that Luke was able to be a part of the whole thing. We are so happy for you guys and so glad that he is here and healthy and that you both are doing well. Can't wait to see more pictures! Congrats!!!
he is so so adorable... so excited to see pictures of him... he was sure a good size... Shi you are my hero
First of all, you look beautiful in those pictures, how did you manage that? Secondly, I think all babies are cute, but at least for the first day or two, they aren't as cute as they will be. Not this little guy, he looks perfect in those pictures, so beautiful. I'm so thankful for modern technology that allowed Luke to be there with you. What a blessing. And I'm so grateful that I got to snuggle him before you left to Utah. He is a keeper! Love ya!
