I'm A Big Girl Now

Today is a GREAT day to be a mother!! Britlyn went potty in her big girl toilet! We have had a little potty for a while but haven't really been too strict on making her go in it, mostly cuz i wasn't quite dedicated yet to staying home and making her go every so often and what not, but she got this really really bad diaper rash and her doctor says its time to potty train her, so we have been taking it slow for the past few days, we would make her go and sit on it after every meal and that's it! She would go in there and sit down and i would give her a dumb dumb sucker to keep her entertained while she sat there. she would sit for at least 5 minutes sometimes alot longer, depending on how good her sucker was :) but she would never actually pee in it. It made her so proud to even sit on it though! And we rewarded her for at least trying! Well after a couple days of this, she would attempt to push and she could squeeze out a drop or two but nothing major, but hey, she was at least doing the whole process right?? so we continued to make a big deal out of any little progress! Well today, I went in to change her cuz it had been a couple hours and noticed she wasn't wet! Now for anyone who knows this little girl knows that that is almost impossible!! Her be dry?? Never!! As carly would say, she is Niagra Falls...but she drinks A TON of water! anyway, i told her to go sit on her big girl toilet and go potty so we did and I was only expecting the same thing!! Well to my surprise....She went a TON!! And it only took her like 2 minutes of sitting on there!! After she was done, she says, MOM! I did it...sucker please!! haha so i of course gave her one! Then a couple hours later she said mommy, potty, so we ran in there and she did it AGAIN!!! of course she got another sucker! Im going to have to think of something else to reward with like stickers or something, cuz when she gets the hang of this she's going to be getting suckers like every half hour, cuz she drinks so much! But It was a proud potty day for mommy!! :) There is light at the end of the tunnel! And I so believe the saying of, they'll do it when they're ready! She is to the point now where she'll pull her diaper off and ask me for big girl panties! hopefully its not just a phase that she's going through! hopefully she'll really get the hang of this!!
