Britlyn is almost 15 months and we FINALLY got her bedroom painted! We have been living in rentals and haven't been able to actually paint her room but we just recently bought our house so I went to work painting! It was a really big project and it took me ALOT longer than i thought it would! Mostly cuz i didn't know exactly what i was doing so i didn't do it right! Her walls were just plain white and there was like crayon all over them so I wanted to paint it soo bad! It took me so long to even pick out the paint which Im sure doesn't come as a surprise to most of you :) but Carly was so helpful and patient in helping me pick out some colors! Every night after Britlyn would go to sleep I would go to work and paint! Carly even came and helped me once and Luke even helped a little! I painted all her walls purple and then started taping off the green and dark purple stripes! I did one wall of taping off stripes and then I siliconed over the edge of the tape to seal it off so my paint wouldn't run under it cuz i wanted super straight lines! Well after i did that to one whole wall I decided to paint those stripes so I could see what it was going to look like! After I did one roll of paint my stomach tied in knots! Everywhere that I had put silicone on the tape and walls I couldn't paint! It would just bead off! So I hurried and checked the bottle and sure enough....I got non-paintable silicone! I wanted to cry!! It took me about 4 days to do this one wall and now I was going to have to start over. Plus put in an extra step of trying to figure out how to get this non-paintable silicone OFF the wall. We tried to think of all different things and we tried a couple but after a few days I tried sanding it off and that worked pretty good. It didn't come off in all the spots but the parts I couldn't get off I just put paintable silicone over it so I could at least paint it but then it made it too thick when I tried to pull it off the wall so it kinda pulled my paint up and made it stretchy...so I was back to the fine touching up stuff that I didn't want to have to do! Anyway...we did the whole rest of the room with Paintable silicone and we got all the stripes painted and Luke and I got the chair rail hung! We weren't sure how to do that part either! You probly would have died laughing at us trying to figure it out! but we did it and i love it!! We still have a little decorating to do and stuff but I think it looks alot better than the pictures show! But sorry you have to look through the furniture to see the walls. We didn't have anywhere to move it all too!

That looks ADORABLE! You guys did a really, really great job! So, so cute :) Love the stripes. And doesn't it feel great to look at it and think, "Yep! That was me!"
You did an awesome job! I love how her room turned out. Good for you guys. That is so funny about her and her baby. I love it! Brig is not as extreme, but if there is a baby anywhere he will run over and touch them and play and give loves. It really is cute. One time we were at church and my friend's baby was asleep in her car seat, so Brig had to go over and rock the baby to make sure she was sleeping well. Too funny how kids pick up on that stuff. I love the crayon story, too! That is too funny! Brig eats his crayons, too! What is it about them?
Turned out really cute! I am sure all the work was worth it.
cute cute cute. its a lot of work huh but it is definitely worth it in the end!
Oh the memories we will have from this little project :) HAHAHA...and I agree with Luke, NEVER AGAIN! It turned out so cute. Now you just have the rest of the house to paint! Seriously, it has taken us 7 months to get our whole house painted. I told Cody, next time we are paying someone to get it done before we move in! Wishful thinking right? Well it did turn out darling. You need to put pics of your bathroom!
